‘A’ Ken Armstrong ‘B’ Doris Farley
55 members set out for Northumberland today stopping for coffee at the Heighley Gate Garden Centre. The weather was cooler than of late but dry and sunny. 22 members set out on the ‘A’ walk and the ‘B’ party set out before lunch as it was far too early to eat. Both walks involved walking on the beautiful clear sandy beach and inland field tracks. Instead of doing one of the organised walks, 5 members visited Bamburgh Castle. It was a very enjoyable and informative visit especially inside the castle. The views from all sides were spectacular on this cloudless sunny day.
Flowers: bedstraw, harebell, hawkweed, yarrow.
