Spring walk: Brampton

We set out in high spirits again for the Brampton walk, 47 members strong, stopping at Haltwhistle for a cuppa on the way.

Jack led the A party from Gilsland and Joan led the B party from Gunshall.

The weather was much more settled and we were treated to more daffodils and spring blossoms along with the first bluebells coming through.

The B party were lucky to come across a pair of newly born lambs as they stopped for lunch by the river.

The B party stopped at Lanercost Priory and the Church gift shop/ coffee shop for a short while, getting into Brampton (with the A party on our heels) for 4pm – luckily a few cafe’s were still open.

we stopped at Hexham on the way home for fish and chips.
