Summer walk: Kelso

31/03/18 Kelso to Jedburgh  ‘A’ David Palmer  ‘B’ Margaret Palmer

Numbers were down again for this outing, probably due to a weather forecast of heavy rain and snow showers. Nevertheless, 41 members set out for Scotland travelling through intermittant snow showers which caused a bit of concern as we were on the A68. However, once we climbed over Carter Bar, the weather changed to rain rather than snow. The coffee stop was spent at the Jedburgh Woollen Mills. 13 members set out on the ‘A’ walk and 22 set out on the ‘B’ walk, a linear from Kalemouth to Jedburgh. Most unusually, the ‘B’ party alighted the coach before the ‘A’ party as the start was enroute to Kelso.  It rained heavily for most of the afternoon and there were some very soggy members at the end of the walks. An evening stop was spent in Hexham.
